Creating Generations of Memories
If you're planning the perfect family vacation, there's a good chance that you're thinking of staying at a lake house. There are so many things that you can do as a family at a lake, from swimming to fishing or boating, and it's easier than ever to rent a lake house or stay at a family lake resort. According to Stayfi, about 74% of all millennial travelers have utilized Airbnb or Homeaway to book a vacation rental, often finding that these sites make it easier for them to find their ideal lakeside getaways. With that being said, you can't just go to a lake and expect everything you need to be there. Let's look at some of the things you should pack when planning a family vacation at a lake.
As previously mentioned, one of the best things to do when at a family lake resort is go fishing. Now, you'll certainly want to make sure that the lake you're visiting allows fishing, and get the proper permissions if necessary. But once that is cleared, you should bring along fishing poles, lures, line, and a tackle box. Additionally, if you're interested in using live bait you should do some searching to make sure that you can buy it near the site.
Chances are, you and your family will be spending a lot of time outside if you're vacationing at a family lake resort. During that time, you'll be much more likely to get sunburned than you usually would. Bring plenty of sunscreen in order to keep yourself and your family safe.
If you're spending a lot of time at the lake, you may be bringing some items along with you that shouldn't get in contact with the water. The best way to protect them is by bringing along some dry bags.
If you and your family plan on going out on a boat, don't assume that your boat will come with life jackets. Bring them along in multiple sizes, for both adults and children. This is the best way for you to ensure that everyone will be safe, whether they're boating or having fun in the lake.
A lake vacation can be great fun for the whole family. You'll just want to make sure that you're fully prepared ahead of time.
